2007 Property Investor Day - Putney, London

On the 17th of June, IPS in conjunction with Balwin Properties, hosted a highly successful South African Property Investment Day on the banks of the Thames in Putney. Over 250 people attended and we received very positive feedback on the day. Click here to watch the trailer of the day!

The intention of the day was three fold:
  • To provide people with information. Although based in the UK, there are hundreds of thousands of people who still want to invest in South Africa, but there are so many unanswered questions. Where to buy, what is happening in the market, have they missed the boat, what about the rentals, how do they do it, is it better to invest in the UK or South Africa or both, what is the economy doing, what impact is the world cup having, etc? IPS continues to provide this information and answer these questions. Scott Picken, IPS CEO, did a 45 minute presentation which focused on these questions, answered them and enabled the IPS investors to make informed decisions. Many people asked about the presentation, please click here to download the PowerPoint. If there is anyone who you think would find this interesting – please pass this onto them or let them know we are going to redo it on the 4th of August. Click here for more information.

  • To promote The Kanyin, a new development by Balwin Properties which has been launched very successfully in Sunninghill in Johannesburg. Over 20% of the development has actually been invested in by expats based around the world and they have realised the opportunity of these investment properties. The best thing is that phase 1 and 2 have transferred, the quality is outstanding and all the units are already rented out – emphasising the strength of these properties as buy to let investments! Our IPS clients and ourselves are very happy with our investment we have made!

  • To promote IPS and Balwin Properties and let people know how IPS can assist them to invest in South Africa while based in the UK and let people understand who Balwin is and what product and opportunities they are bringing to the market. We had their CEO, Steve Brookes, Construction Director Ulrich Gschnaidtner and Sales and Marketing Manager, Amber Heywood and it was great for them to meet their overseas clients and also get an understanding of the market and what people are looking for. Steve Brookes gave a presentation on where Balwin Properties was, where the company was going and where he saw the opportunities!

There was also a gourmet braai offered to all the clients as they all enjoyed South African hospitality on the banks for the river. Balwin Properties also had a draw and gave away a deposit to anyone who invested in The Kanyin. Many of the people who invested in phase 1 and 2 in the October launch, came along for the day, but it was actually someone who bought on the day that won the prize! With a 100% financing from the banks, it is nice to be able to buy a property without putting anything down whatsoever!

Generally the weather was great, the tent and garden were packed, the energy and patriotism were high and it was a very positive day, thoroughly enjoyed by all!
